Our annual presentation on the UK book consumer delivered by Steve Bohme, Research Director.

Join us 21 March 2024 in person or online

We are delighted to announce that the annual presentation on the UK book consumer will be offered in 2024 as a hybrid event once again with the option to join digitally or in the London event space.

Thursday 21 March 2024
10:30am – 11:30am
London Transport Museum, Covent Garden Piazza, London, WC2E 7BB
Or via live streaming

Attendees will be given a tour of the consumer book buying landscape in 2023. Which are the different buying groups across format and category and how has this changed over the last few years? With the market boasting large sales volumes in previous years, how did the print and digital sectors fair as consumers tighten their belts? What shifts are observed in book discovery and buying channels and what influences the final purchase? All attendees will gain a thorough understanding of the UK’s appetite for books, with topics including:

  • Long- and short-term market trends
  • Channel popularity
  • Format share of leading genres
  • Characteristics of buyers
  • Discovery methods
  • Purchase influences
